Limited Series Part I: The Reproduction Center Annex

Limited Series Part I: The Reproduction Center Annex

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring!  We started composing a welcome email for new clients and we realized that it would be a good idea to share the information with all of our clients.  However, it grew excessively long, so we are sending it in bite size pieces over the next few weeks.

Included in this limited series are highlights of areas in our practice that generate the most questions.  We hope that by clarifying them, it will help to make our relationship the best it can be.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything else we can do for you.  Let’s get started!

The Reproduction Center has expanded into its own space!

The doors opened on February 1st, and we hit the ground running.

On the Equine side, we are collecting stallions, breeding mares, collecting oocytes, flushing embryos for transfer to recipient mares, delivering foals (yay!) and much more

The Canine & Feline patients are here for services like in-house progesterone testing, C-section planning and surgery, collecting stud dogs, artificial insemination (traditional, surgical and trans-cervical or TCI) and radiographs for OFA & PennHIP certification.

Katie Hornberger, DVM, DACT

Our reproduction center team is led by Dr. Katie Hornberger, a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology (DACT).  Veterinary Theriogenology is the specialty dedicated to all aspects of animal reproductive medicine and surgery. The focus covers reproduction, obstetrics, and neonatology, as well as the physiology and pathology of male and female reproductive systems.

COMMUNICATION

Please add 317-758-5301 to your contacts!  This is a dedicated phone number for reproduction calls and text messages. If you prefer email, contact us at repro@jvc.vet.  These are answered during our regular office hours for repro.  If our hands are full & we can’t respond right away, we will get back with you between appointments or the next business day.  We’ve provided various ways to contact us, so use the one that works best for you—but not all 3 please!  Leaving multiple messages or calling the main clinic number adds confusion to the communication.

HOURS

The Reproduction Center regular office hours are 9am to 3pm Monday/Tuesday & Thursday/Friday.  The office is closed Wednesday and the weekend.

PARKING

We’ve moved all our employee parking, so there is plenty of room to maneuver in the lot east of the Repro Center entrance.
Equine: Please pull forward between the Equine and Small Animal clinics and park to unload. Avoid blocking the drive.
Canine & Feline: You will receive instructions in your appointment reminders about which entrance you should use. The Repro Annex is used for the majority of repro services, but some services still occur in the Main Small Animal clinic building.
